Chiefs Split Doubleheader with Dayton

The Peoria Chiefs split a doubleheader with the visiting Dayton Dragons on Wednesday at O'Brien Field. The Chiefs took game one 5-0 and fell in the nightcap 5-4 in nine innings. The split gives the Chiefs a 2-4 record on the six-game homestand and brings their overall record to 9-17 on the season. Read More

Co-Players of the Game: Jovan Rosa (1B) - Rosa went 2-for-3 in game one with a solo home run and a triple to drive in a pair of the Chiefs runs. Billy Muldowney (SP) - Muldowney, in his first start since last June, the right-hander did not allow a base runner in his four innings of work. Nate Samson (2B) - Samson collected three hits in game two, including a double and a RBI.

Notes... Acosta allowed his league leading sixth home run.... Lara was walked intentionally twice, giving the Chiefs three intentional walks in the series...Lara had four plate appearances without an at bat (SAC, 3 BB)...Peoria is now 1-3 in extra inning games this season...The Chiefs are 4-1 all-time in extra inning games with Dayton...The Chiefs have scored first in just eight of 26 games this season...
