
Cougars Sign Shane Collins

Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of 1997-born defenceman Shane Collins (Rosetown, SK) to a standard Western Hockey League contract. Collins is a right-handed shot who stands 6'1" and weighs 160 pounds. He was drafted by the Cougars in the third round (62nd overall) in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
Last season Collins dressed in 39 games with the Moose Jaw Generals (SMAAAHL) where he scored four goals, 24 points and added 16 penalty minutes. He added one assist in four playoff games. Collins represented Saskatchewan at the 2012 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup and scored a goal in Saskatchewan's bronze medal victory over Manitoba.
Collins is the second defenceman and sixth player from the Cougars 1997 draft-class who has signed a contract. The other signed players include: Jansen Harkins, Brad Morrison, Tate Olson, Aaron Boyd, and Matt Kustra.
