Prince George Cougars News Release

The Prince George Cougars have teamed up with Sacred Heart School to lend some helping hands this school year. Developed in September in 2002, the schools "Helping Hand" Program was introduced to enable the students of Sacred Heart School to build school community values that will, in turn, be beneficial to the global community of Prince George.

By demonstrating positive school citizenship through kindness, sharing, support and encouragement for other students, being role models, and solving conflicts in a respectful and peaceful manner, students receive coupons for their behavior, which are later collected and entered into a draw box each week. Students will be eligible to win a number of great prizes, including Cougar team memorabilia and tickets to attend Prince George Cougars games. All draws are conducted weekly at the Monday morning school assemblies, which enables Sacred Heart to recognize students, in a public form, for their positive contributions to the development of the school's community.

"We are very excited about having the Cougars involved in our school and look forward to them being members of our school community as role models for our students. The generous support the Cougars are providing is extremely appreciated", says Sacred Heart School Principal, Kevin Harnish.
