ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the fourth week of the 2004-2005 regular season with a 7-4-1-0 record (5-2-1-0 at home, 2-2-0-0 on the road, 1-0-1-0 in overtime) and tied for first place in the BC DIVISION with the VANCOUVER GIANTS...Following the game versus the BLAZERS Tuesday night the ICE will depart on a five-game road trip through the EAST DIVISION (October 23 â 29).
SPORTSACTION NIGHT: When the ICE host the KAMLOOPS BLAZERS on Tuesday, October 19, SPORTSACTION will be the title game sponsor...There will be "ZONES" where fans will have the opportunity to test their skills and win great prizes, including a chance to win t-shirts, jerseys or even a pair of 2005-2006 Season Tickets.
DID YOU KNOW: The attendance of 3,622 at KOOTENAY'S game on October 16 versus VANCOUVER was the largest home crowd since March 15, 2003 (4,218) when the ICE hosted the RED DEER REBELS...NIGEL DAWES needs to play in six more games to reach 200 in his WHL career...DAWES needs eight goals to move into first place in all-time goals scored with the KOOTENAY franchise (JARRET STOLL leads with 124) and 11 assists to move into fifth place in all-time assists (JASON JAFFRAY is fifth with 102 career assists)...ADAM TAYLOR needs one goal to reach 50 in his WHL career...ADAM CRACKNELL played in his 150th career WHL game October 16 versus VANCOUVER...JAMES CHEREWYK, who has played in 145 career WHL games, played his 100th with the KOOTENAY franchise in CALGARY on October 13...DALE MAHOVSKY needs six goals to reach 50 in his WHL career...JEFF GLASS tied DAN BLACKBURN for all-time games played by a goaltender with the ICE franchise (101) October 17 versus KELOWNA...GLASS needs to play 233 minutes to move into first for all-time minutes played (BLACKBURN leads with 5,927).
ONE YEAR AGO: After 12 games of the 2003-2004 season the ICE were 6-3-1-2, after 13 games 7-3-1-2 and after 14 games 7-4-1-2.
