
Cougars Extend Winning Streak to Four Games with Dominant 8-1 Victory Over Rockets

Prince George, BC - The Prince George Cougars continue their impressive season with a resounding 8-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets, securing their fourth consecutive win. The game took place on Wednesday night at the CN Centre, further solidifying the Cougars' position as leaders in the Western Hockey League.
In a dynamic contest that showcased their offensive prowess, the Cougars improved their season record to 5-1-0-0, firmly holding the top spot in the WHL.
The opening period saw the Kelowna Rockets take an early lead, as Logan Peskett deftly tipped in an Ethan Mittlesteadt point shot at 5:06, putting the visitors up 1-0. The Cougars quickly responded on the power-play when Terik Parascak buried a rebound at 7:16, levelling the score.
The second period belonged to Terik Parascak, who continued his remarkable offensive performance by notching his second goal of the night, marking his league-leading 10th goal of the season at 1:29. Just 30 seconds later, Hunter Laing extended the Cougars' lead to 3-1 with a powerful shot that beat Kelowna's goaltender, Jake Pilon. Prince George kept the momentum going with a pair of short-handed goals from Oren Shtrom and Ondrej Becher. Becher's goal at 12:10 was a stunning display of teamwork, as he and Terik Parascak executed a flawless 2-on-0 passing play.
Zac Funk contributed to the Cougar's dominance by scoring his fifth goal of the season on the power-play at 14:40. These five unanswered goals gave the Cougars a commanding 6-1 lead at the end of the second period.
In the final frame, the Cougars continued to play tight defence, limiting the Rockets to just two shots on goal. Meanwhile, Viliam Kmec delivered a power-play goal, and Carlin Dezainde added to the offensive display with his third goal of the season.
With their four-game winning streak intact, the Prince George Cougars are eager to maintain their momentum when they face the Wenatchee Wild on Friday, October 7th, at the CN Centre.
