Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that right-handed pitcher Brent Lysander has joined the Cougars from Short-A Vancouver. Lysander, who was sent to Vancouver from Kane County on June 19, reunites with his Cougars teammates in Peoria for this evening's 6:30 p.m. road contest against the Chiefs in Central Illinois.

The latest roster move takes the Cougars' active roster to the league-imposed limit of 25 players. This marks the first time the Cougars have been at a full active roster since June 15.

Lysander, a 16th round pick in 2007, joined the Cougars from extended spring training on May 19 and pitched in seven games for the Cougars during his first stint. Upon joining Vancouver earlier this month, Lysander pitched in two games for a total of 5.2 innings.

Kane County (4-7) has dropped five straight games as they prepare for this evening's game against the Peoria Chiefs at O'Brien Field. Tonight's 6:30 p.m. contest features Cougars starter Scott Deal (5-3, 3.84) who opposes the Chiefs' Chris Siegfried (1-6, 7.10). The Cougars return home late tonight before opening a four-game homestand against the Burlington Bees tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m.
