Macon Trax News Release

[Macon Ga.]-Macon Trax Head Coach Tommy Stewart made his first in-season move today. Veteran defenseman Benoit Cotnoir (pronounced Ben-wa Cott-nwar) is expected to be in uniform for the Trax Sunday versus Orlando.

Cotnoir has spent most of his professional career in the ECHL with the Mobile Mysticks and Richmond Renegades. Between 1999-2003 the 6'1" 200-pound defenseman has appeared in 174 games scoring 64 points. Stewart expects Cotnoir to make a big difference on the blue line.

"Anytime you can bring in a four-year ECHL player it is going to help your team." Stewart said, "I was looking for more leadership from our defense and I have found it in Benoit."

The Rouyn-Noranda, P.Q. native spent the last month with the Augusta Lynx in the ECHL. Cotnoir was released for salary cap reasons.

To make room on the roster, the Trax waived defenseman Max Graupner. The German player appeared in two games for the Trax scoring a goal and an assist.
