CELEBRATION, Fla. – The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) announced the WHA2 Player of the Week is Miami Manatees left wing Eric Perricone. Perricone scored three goals and added three assists in the Manatees 10 – 6 victory over the Macon Trax. The WHA2 Goaltender of the Week is Jacksonville Barracudas Brandon Snee. In two games, Snee had a 1.49 goals against average and .939 save percentage.

The first Internet video broadcast of a WHA2 game will take place on Sunday, November 16th on www.IRN.FM. The Orlando Seals will take on the Macon Trax for a 6:05pm game. This first game will be a "free view" to fans who register at www.IRN.FM. Video of select games will be broadcast on IRN.FM throughout the season for a pay-per-view price of $5.99.

The Alabama Slammers opened their inaugural season in front of a sold out crowd last Friday, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Jacksonville Barracudas at the Pelham Civic Complex. Slammers goals were scored by Doug Lawrence and Ryan Prentice. Goalie Fred Beaubien made 24 saves for the Slammers. The next nights game was a tight contest. Jerry Kresec's power play goal 11 minutes into the first gave Alabama a lead they would hold until early in the third. However, two Barracudas goals, the second coming just 27 seconds into overtime, gave Jacksonville the win. Jamie Ronayne sparkled in goal for the Slammers, stopping 30 of 32 shots. Alabama is off this weekend, then return to home ice against the Orlando Seals on Friday, November 21. The Barracudas started the season with two wins in Alabama against the Slammers over the past weekend. On Friday night, the fans were treated to fights, big hits, and goals. Kory Baker led the Barracudas to a 5 – 2 victory with a goal and 3 assists. On Saturday, Alabama jumped out to an early 1-0 lead but midway through the 3rd period, Captain Neil Wilkinson tied it up. Rookie defenseman Chad Gromek scored the game-winner in overtime. The Barracudas visit the Miami Manatees this Saturday. The ‘Cudas home opener is fast approaching, as the Barracudas will host the high-powered Manatees on Nov. 28th. Face-off time is 7:05pm and the game is sponsored by the City of Jacksonville JEDC Sports and Entertainment Board.

The Lakeland Loggerheads take on the Miami Manatees this Friday, November 14 at 7:05pm at the Miami Arena. The team returns home to the Lakeland Center on Sunday, November 23 when the Loggerheads will host Alabama in the first of four consecutive games vs. the Slammers. It will be Cellular Unlimited night and all fans will receive a Loggerheads magnetic schedule courtesy of our friends at Cellular Unlimited, Polk County's largest cellular accessory store. All games will be broadcast on www.irn.fm. Saturday, November 15th the Loggerheads Dance Team, the "Loggerettes", and 2 Loggerheads players will be signing autographs at Burdines in the Lakeland Square Mall from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Tuesday, November 19th, the Loggerheads players will take part in the "Great American Teach In" at Carlton Palmore Elementary, Wahneta Elementary and Eagle Lake Elementary schools.

The Macon Trax finish their three-game season-opening road trip in Orlando on Sunday November 16. The Trax played the first game in WHA2 history against Lakeland on Thursday, November 6 and won 5 - 2. Trax forward Ryan Rivard netted the first goal in league history. After the goal, officials took the puck and Rivard's stick. Both items have been signed and are being sent to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ont., Canada. With the win, Tommy Stewart earned his first victory as a head coach. The Trax next traveled to Miami to face the Manatees. In a goal-a-rama, the Manatees scored double-digit goals and beat the Trax 10 - 6. The Trax will open their home schedule on Nov. 22 versus Alabama at 7:35 p.m. The world renowned ZOOPERSTARS will perform for the opening night crowd. On Sunday, Nov. 23, after the Trax face Jacksonville, JON SCOTT will perform a free post-game concert. Puck drop for Sunday is 4:05 pm.

The Miami Manatees won their inaugural game when they defeated the Macon Trax 10 – 6 on Saturday, November 8. In his professional debut, Darren Cain scored the first goal in franchise history 38 seconds into the game. Cain wasn't done adding his name to the record books; he also scored the first hat trick for the Manatees. Also notching a hat trick was WHA2 Player of the Week Eric Perricone. The Manatees take on the Lakeland Loggerheads as they make their way into town on Friday night and face the Jacksonville Barracudas on Saturday.

The Orlando Seals have just one game this week, hosting the Macon Trax on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at TD Waterhouse Centre. Sunday's game will mark a new era of internet broadcasting for WHA2, as the game will be available on video streaming on www.IRN.FM. The game will be free to those who register at www.IRN.FM. Cost for video pay-per-view games throughout the season is $5.99. All Seals games are available on an audio feed also at www.IRN.FM. Registration and payment options are available at that website.

The WHA2 has six member teams for the 2003 – 2004 season: the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and Orlando Seals. Each team will play a 60-game schedule. Every game will be broadcast on www.irn.fm with video broadcast of select games available throughout the season.
