Corning Bulldogs Destroy First State Fusion
November 15, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Corning Bulldogs News Release
The Corning Bulldogs (2-0) lived up to the hype from the season opener and then some. The Corning Bulldogs jumped out to a 12 to 2 lead to start the game against the First State Fusion who represent the state of Delaware. Corning cruised to a 161-96 victory, yes that is not a typo it was really 161-96. The Corning Bulldogs did all this with out one of the teams best player's (Ronald Wright) who went down in the start of the game with a minor sprain to his ankel. The Bulldogs chose not to re-insert him into the game after he was cleared by the teams trainer due to the Bulldogs superior skill level compared to the First State Fusion.
Head Coach James R. Schutz had the following to say : "If Ronald stayed healthy and played more then 5 minutes of the game and we had not called the dogs off we could have probably scored 200 + points. Although First State Fusion was 0-2 coming into tonight's game both of the previous games they played they were competivive in those games and against what we asumed was quality teams. This is scary , very scary. I would love to get a crack at an NBA team for 48 minutes."
The Bulldogs will now go on the road for the weekend with games in Boston and Westchester. The teams next home game will be Sunday November 25th @ 3pm vs the ABA defending champions the Vermont Frost Heaves.
