ABA Saint John Riptide

Millrats Join With Community Partners

November 15, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Saint John Riptide News Release

Hampshire First Bank and the Manchester Kiwanis presented Manchester Millrats principal owner Jason Briggs, and Head Coach Larry Lessett, a sponsorship check for $3,000 in support of the Millrats 'Involve Our Youth' program today.

The donation is a joint effort between the Kiwanis and the new community oriented bank, raised from funds generated from event parking at the Hampshire First Bank parking lot at 80 Canal Street. The event parking lot was run by the Manchester Kiwanis Club.

The mission of this joint effort is to have all the funds collected go back to the kids in the community. The 'Involve Our Youth' sponsorship is for underprivileged kids from local youth organizations, clubs, or advocacy groups. At every home game, the Millrats provide 20 seats for the kids from such organization, along with their chaperones, to watch the pro basketball experience that they might not have been otherwise able to enjoy.

Hampshire First Bank is an official sponsor of the Manchester Millrats.

The Manchester Millrats are new expansion team in the American Basketball Association (ABA). The Fans can see the Manchester Millrats in action this Saturday evening, November 17th, at 7:05 p.m., as the Manchester Millrats take on the Halifax Rainmen in the 'Fieldhouse' on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. Single game, season and half season ticket plans are on sale now on www.manchestermillrats.com or by calling 1-866-9-GET TIX (1-866-943-8849).

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
