Vermont Slips past Montreal in Home Opener

BARRE, VT-The Vermont Frost Heaves pulled past the Montreal Royal Thursday night in their home opener. The final score was 115-105 as the FrostHeaves put a second win on their record.

Terrance Green led the Frost Heaves with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Close behind him was Erik Nelson who scored 18 and took down 12 boards. Vermont had four otherplayers scoring double digits.

Leading Montreal was Bobby Millerwith 30 points, which included 3 Cody Chevrolet 3D baskets. On his tail was Cordell Jeanty with 23 points and 11 rebounds. In the end the Frost Heaves dominated the boards with 68, leaving Montreal in the dust with just 38.

The FrostHeaves raced out to a 69-38 lead, an advantage they would hold until the third quarter, when Montrealripped off 51 points and actually edged briefly into the lead. But it was not meant to be for the Royal, as Vermont pulled away inthe fourth.

The FrostHeaves (2-0), who play at Quebec tomorrownight, return to Vermont Sunday when they take on Halifax at Burlington's Memorial Auditorium. Tip-off for Fletcher Allen Health Care Day is at 2:05 pm.
