Upon the Eve of Our Home Pre-Season Opener

December 18, 2010 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

We hope everyone is getting ready for Frost Heaves basketball again as we prepare to play the Saint John (NB) Mill Rats at the Barre Aud at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Doors open at 1:30 pm. It's time to dust off the cowbells. We have 12 Vermont Crafters in the concession area so you can still do some holiday shopping. We've got wait service in the seatbacks, aka Heaves Heaven, and a terrific half time show - 50 or so members of our local Jazzercise, led by Diane Hood, doing their big dance.

You can even come earlier, real early, at 8:00 am or 9:00 am for a pancake breakfast. For only $6.00, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast with Santa and some Frost Heaves. This event is co-sponsored by the Barre City Rec Dept and the Heaves. If you're coming to the game, you'll get a $1.00 your game day ticket!! Thanks to Linda Rouelle for leading this event.

We know all of our fans are very giving - please bring an unwrapped toy for the Barre Holiday Gift Toy Drive and a non-perishable food item. We'll collect food at every home game. The food will go to the Central VT Community Action Council emergency food shelf, which has seen unprecedented increases this past year.

If you haven't purchased all of your holiday gifts, season tickets are a slam dunk of a gift...lasts for months!

Have you checked out our website lately We have a page we're starting to fill as to where members of past Heaves teams are - you don't have to go far to find some Heaves - just come to the Aud, 'cause right now we have Markus Austin, Bobby Shedd, Dwuan Rice, Ross DeMasi all on the roster. You can also purchase team merchandise (more to be added shortly) and you can click on events, and find out what's happening around town with the Heaves. Thanks to John Hackney for all of his web work.

So....Sunday is the big day - everyday someone tells me how important it is to have the Frost Heaves part of central Vermont, that they are a great asset to the community, and while we agree with all of that, it's important for people to come out to the games. A strong showing by our fans will demonstrate that belief the Heaves are important to the central Vermont community.

Special thanks to all of our business partners who believe in the Heaves!
