Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (8/13/2015) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced Thursday that the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with defenseman Corbin Baldwin.
Baldwin, 24, is the first player signed by the Steelheads since Graham ascended to the top job with the team last week.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound blue-liner has appeared in 180 professional games since turning pro in 2012. Nearly half (84) have been at the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America, the American Hockey League. Between the AHL and the ECHL, Baldwin has 273 penalty minutes and 30 fighting majors. The younger brother of former Steelheads defenseman Gord Baldwin is coming off a career-best 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) last season with the rival Alaska Aces.
Baldwin is the third defenseman to be added to Idaho's training-camp roster, joining Jake Rutt and Daniel Johnston. The Steelheads open the regular season on Friday, October 16, at home against the Rapid City Rush. It is the first of 36 home games, each of which will be played at CenturyLink Arena.
Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting as low as $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are also available. Contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 for more information or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
