
Coquis shutout in final game of homestand

(Allentown, Pa) - Dan Straily (4-1) made his Lehigh Valley IronPigs (52-56) debut on Thursday evening at Coca-Cola Park. It didn't turn out as well as he would hope as the Buffalo Bisons (57-53) won 6-0.
Michael De La Cruz hit a three-run home run off Straily in the top of the fourth inning to give the Bisons a 3-0 lead. Rowdy Tellez followed with a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to extend Buffalo's lead to 6-0. Straily allowed six runs off seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in five innings.
Taylor Saucedo made a spot start after originally scheduled starter Nick Kingham was scratched. Saucedo pitched three shutout innings and only gave up one hit, while striking out three batters. Matt Dermody (1-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up one hit and recorded two strikeouts.
Jackson McClelland pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. He gave up four hits and issued one walk with one strikeout.
Kyle Dohy pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Straily. He recorded five strikeouts while giving up just one hit. Fernando Salas pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning - issuing just one walk. Tom Windle retired the side in the top of the ninth inning.
Bryan Baker closed out the ninth inning for the Bisons by pitching a scoreless inning.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs head up the highway to play the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beginning on Friday evening at 7:05 p.m. It'll be a short three-game road trip for the IronPigs.
