ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Jan. 17, 2007 - The defending NBA Development League Champion Albuquerque Thunderbirds will be at Boston's Gourmet Pizza, located on Jefferson just west of I-25, this Thursday, January 18 from 6-9 p.m. All tips received by the Thunderbirds and 10-percent of all food purchases from 6 to 9 p.m. will be donated directly to the Ronald McDonald House.
Thunderbirds players and coaches will be taking over wait-staff duties for the evening. The event will be a great opportunity for fans to meet their favorite T-Bird players, coaches, dancers, and mascot. Attendees will be able to bid on game worn uniform items and other collectibles or purchase season tickets.
"One of the great things about the NBA Development League is the ability to create events for our partners and fans that serve the community," team president Billy Widner said. "Fans meet future NBA players while they enjoy great food and contribute to a worthwhile charity."
The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders (Calif.), Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
