Contributions Help Pets in January

Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Hundreds of dogs, cats, and other critters find loving homes each year through the efforts of the Cedar Bend Humane Society, January's featured charity highlighted by the $16.50 Campaign, which is presented by Slumberland Furniture, the Waterloo Black Hawks, and 1650 "The Fan," KCNZ-AM.

Stray, unwanted, and neglected animals throughout the area benefit from CBHS services, not to mention the households brightened by the addition of a furry family member. In addition to pet adoption, CBHS rescues abandoned animals, reunites lost dogs or cats with their owners, microchips pets, operates a petfood pantry, and more. In summarizing its mission, the organization says it operates to "provide humane care for all animals under its protection, to educate the community about responsible pet ownership, and to advance the cause of kindness to animals."

"There is no organization in the Cedar Valley that does what the Cedar Bend Humane Society does for animals," said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "For many years and in many ways, our organization and our fans have looked for ways to help Cedar Bend, and we hope the $16.50 Campaign will do that this month."

During January, the Waterloo Black Hawks, Slumberland Furniture, and 1650 The Fan ask you to give a small donation that can change the lives of both pets and people. The objective is for 100 Black Hawks fans and KCNZ listeners to contribute $16.50 to CBHS this month. When those small amounts are pooled together, they can make a big difference.
