Florence Y'alls News Release
Florence, KY - With the home opener just fourteen weeks away, JTF Construction Inc. has resumed construction on the Florence Freedom ballpark. Construction crews are currently working on completion of the team offices and gift shop.
Construction of a new highway marquee and new scoreboard will begin in March. The new scoreboard will feature a video board, message center and an electronic scoreboard. The highway marquee, which will be visible from both north and southbound traffic on I-75/71, will feature a message center that will provide updated information on game times and promotions at the stadium.
As weather permits, landscaping around the complex will begin, and the stadium will receive a face lift when the entire complex is repainted with more traditional ballpark colors.
"We are excited for these renovations to get underway. We are confident that the changes made will make for a more enjoyable atmosphere for our fans," said General Manager Pat Daly.
The front office staff will be moving into their stadium offices on March 7. They are temporarily housed in the Florence City Building located on Ewing Blvd.
The 2005 Florence Freedom home opener is Saturday May 28 at 7:05 p.m. versus the Chillicothe Paints. Season tickets are now on sale, including full season, half season and 10-game mini packages, by calling 859-594-HITS.
