
Connor Dewar's Big Week in the NHL, 'Tips at the Olympics

2022 Winter Olympics
Three former Silvertips have been named to Olympic rosters: Dominik Bittner (2011-12; Germany), Landon Ferraro (2010-11; Canada) and Mirco Müller (2012-14; Switzerland). Tyler Dietrich (2003-05) has been named an assistant coach for Hockey Canada.
NHL
Connor Dewar (2015-19) has had quite the week with the Minnesota Wild. On Jan. 21, he dropped the gloves and won his first NHL fight, squaring off with Chicago's MacKenzie Entwistle. Three nights later, he sniped his first NHL goal against the Montreal Canadiens, followed up by a primary assist just 22 seconds later.
Dewar now has a goal and two assists in 11 games played with the Wild.
Radko Gudas (2009-10) returned to the Pacific Northwest on Jan. 23 as a member of the Florida Panthers playing against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Gudas, the former winner of the Silvertips' FIERCE Predator Award, skated in 15:37 TOI and dropped the gloves with Seattle's Yanni Gourde.
Byron Froese (2008-10) has officially been recalled to the Calgary Flames' taxi squad. Froese has 10 goals and nine assists through 20 AHL games with the Stockton Heat.
Ryan Murray (2009-13) is skating in a non-contact red sweater for the Colorado Avalanche, easing his way back from injury. Murray is in his ninth NHL season and his first with the Avalanche. He has recorded four assists in 21 games played this season.
Jake Christiansen (2015-20) skated in two more games with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 20 and 21 before getting re-assigned to the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL. Christiansen leads all Monsters defenders in scoring with 20 points in 26 games.
AHL
Noah Juulsen (2013-17) is currently riding a five-game point streak for the Abbotsford Canucks. Juulsen has eight assists over that stretch, giving him 10 points through 25 games this season.
Cole Fonstad (2019-21) has been finding his offensive groove with the Cleveland Monsters in January. He has two goals and an assist over his last seven games played, giving him eight points through 21 games played this campaign.
Garrett Pilon (2017-18) set a personal best with three assists on Jan. 22 in a 5-0 drubbing of the Hartford Wolf Pack. Pilon has four goals and six assists in 10 January games as a member of the Hershey Bears, affiliate of the Washington Capitals.
Riley Sutter (2015-19) picked up an assist on Jan. 12, giving him four points in 22 games this season in Hershey.
Wyatte Wylie (2016-20) set a career high with a three-point night on Jan. 23 with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, collecting three assists in a 5-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers.
Bryce Kindopp (2015-20) picked up where he left off after being re-assigned to the San Diego Gulls after a brief stint with the Anaheim Ducks. Kindopp has two goals and two assists in seven games since returning to the AHL, giving him 14 points in 29 AHL games.
Montana Onyebuchi (2016-18) set a personal high of his own on Jan. 18, picking up 17 penalty minutes in a single game with the San Jose Barracuda (Sharks affiliate). In a game facing off against Kindopp's Gulls, Onyebuchi took exception to a boarding penalty taken by San Diego's Morgan Adams-Moisan and subsequently challenged him to a fight, resulting in a five-minute fighting major, a two-minute instigation minor and a 10-minute misconduct.
Eetu Tuulola (2016-17) scored in three straight games on Jan. 5, 7 and 9 for the Stockton Heat. He's also added a pair of assists in his last four games to bring his total to 13 points in 29 games this season.
Dustin Wolf (2017-21) just keeps on winning, as his record has improved to 17-2-3 while backstopping the Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Wolf has a .930 save percentage and 2.10 goals-against average to go along with it.
ECHL
Orrin Centazzo (2016-18) has been named ECHL Player of the Week. Centazzo piled up five goals and three assists over three games with the Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
