Connecticut Signs BC's Murphy

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (April 18, 2011) - The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed Boston College forward Stefanie Murphy to a training camp contract.

As per team policy, terms were not released.

A native of Londonderry, N.H., the 6-foot-4 Murphy is the second all-time leading rebounder in program history, finishing with 937 boards. She ranks fourth all-time with 1,722 points. Murphy was the second-leading scorer and rebounder for the Eagles this past season, averaging 15.3 points and 7.9 boards per game.

Murphy had 12 double-doubles as a senior, 26 for her career, and she finished with 87 career double-figure scoring games. A team captain, Murphy was an All-ACC third team selection as a senior, adding to a collection of conference awards that also includes being named ACC Rookie of the Year following her freshman season.
