Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa.) - The Philadelphia Phillies announced today that RHP Clay Condrey is scheduled to continue his Major League rehab at Coca-Cola Park when the IronPigs host the Buffalo Bisons on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Condrey, 33, has been on the Disabled List since July 23 with a left oblique strain - his second stint on the D.L. (6/19-7/17) this year. Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is the exclusive sponsor of all Major League rehabilitation appearances at Coca-Cola Park.
Only General Admission tickets still remain for Saturday's game and they can be purchased in-person at Coca-Cola Park, by calling (610) 841-PIGS or online at ironpigsbaseball.com. Prices for single-game tickets are just $6 for General Admission, granting fans access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area and standing room only areas.
Condrey began his most-recent rehab assignment on Sunday and has since tossed a combined two scoreless innings with the GCL Phillies and Clearwater (A). Prior to re-aggravating his oblique in mid-July, Condrey was 6-2 with a 3.41 ERA and a save in 36 appearances for the Phillies.
Originally signed by San Diego as a non-drafted free agent out of McNeese State University (LA) in 1998, Condrey made his Major League debut with the Padres in 2002 and was later dealt to the Phillies for infielder Trino Aguilar on 3/28/04. He returned to the Big Leagues for the first time since 2003 while with Philadelphia in 2006 - and went 2-2 with a 3.14 ERA in 21 relief outings. After being shuttled back-and-forth between Ottawa (AAA) and Philadelphia in 2007, Condrey became a mainstay in the Phillies bullpen last season and set career highs in games (56), innings (69.0), strikeouts (34) and games finished (14). He also made a pair of postseason appearances last year, highlighted by a scoreless relief outing against the Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS.
In 180 career ML games during parts of six seasons, Condrey has amassed an 18-12 mark with a 4.18 ERA (245.1 ip, 276 h, 121 r, 114 er, 87 bb, 140 k).
Saturday is also the debut of The Bucket Boys presented by Plantique at Coca-Cola Park, a nationally-recognized and extremely popular percussive-themed musical entertainment group. Cap off another great night of baseball and family entertainment with the second of three consecutive Fireworks displays, with Saturday night's fireworks show presented by Haldeman Ford/Lincoln/Mercury.
Additionally on Saturday, IronPigs Charities "Philling the Need" initiative is partnering with The Pajama Program. Fans can support this worthy cause by donating new pajamas or sleepwear at a collection location at Coca-Cola Park.
Fans are reminded that there are three entry points for parking and are encouraged to use the Dauphin Street entrance when traveling from downtown Allentown. In addition to the Dauphin Street entrance, entry to Coca-Cola Park can be gained off American Parkway and Union Boulevard. Preferred/Handicapped Parking access is available via American Parkway only.
The cost of parking for all IronPigs home games is $3 per vehicle.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are dedicated to providing family-friendly entertainment and are the only Minor League team to offer bubbles to fans entering the AT&T Plaza and balloons for all children exiting Coca-Cola Park.
