BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors won both of their contests last week, sweeping the home-and-home series against the Stockton Thunder in a pair of high-powered offensive showdowns. Nineteen goals were scored in the two games between the two teams.
With a record of 22-9-2-0 and 46 points in the standings, Bakersfield remains in first place in the Pacific, and owns the second-best win percentage in the league (.697). The Condors have played less games than any other team in the entire ECHL, but rank third in wins.

The Condors trailed after two periods, 3-2, but rattled off four third period goals to skate to a 6-4 win in front of 6,005 fans Friday night against the Thunder. LW Shawn Weller scored twice in the third frame, and added two assists for a four-point night, while F Stephane Goulet added two goals himself in the win. Ten different players recorded at least one point for Bakersfield.

Condors 5 vs. STOCKTON 4, OT
F Mathieu Aubin scored on the power play just 21 seconds into overtime, to give the Condors another comeback victory in Stockton on Sunday. Five Condors lit the lamp in the game, including RW Nick Kemp, who scored shorthanded at 9:16 of the third period to erase a third period deficit for the second straight game.
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
F Stephane Goulet has run his point streak to eight games, a season-high for the Condors, with back-to-back multi-point games. He has 8g-6a-14pts in that stretch.
Three of the four Condors games in Stockton this season have ended in overtime, and all three OT winners were power play goals.
The Condors are opening up a stretch of games almost entirely against Western Division foes later this week. Starting with Friday's game in Victoria, they will play 10 of 11 contests against teams from the West. Their record against the West Division is 10-3-0-0.
LW Shawn Weller had the first four-point game of the season on Friday. The team captain has a three-game point streak (2g-5a-7pts) and has at least one point in 14 of the last 18 games. He has climbed into a tie for 13th in the ECHL in scoring with 35 points on the season.
G Timo Pielmeier has appeared in 15 of the last 16 Condors games, with his relief appearance on Sunday. The rookie is 2nd in the ECHL with 15 wins and 4th in minutes played (1,406).
The Condors crowd of 6,005 on Friday boosted them to 4th in the ECHL in average attendance, to 5,204.
D Mark Mitera (right) recorded his first professional goal on Sunday. He is the 8th Condor this season to score his first pro goal. The Condors had not won a game all season in which they trailed after two periods, but did it in both games last weekend.
ON THE DOCKET:
The Condors road swing continues this week, heading to Ontario on Wednesday and Victoria for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday. They return home to host the Salmon Kings on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22 and 23.
