
Condors Send Three to Wichita

Wichita, KS (Nov. 1st) - The Wichita Thunder. ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced three separate transactions today relating to players being sent down from the Condors. The Oilers have assigned Greg Chase from Bakersfield to Wichita. Forward Evan Polei has been assigned to Wichita from Bakersfield. Defenseman Jamie Doornbosch has been released from his tryout agreement and returned to Wichita.
Chase, 22, returns to the ECHL after playing last season with the Condors. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native registered 14 points (3g, 11a) in 48 games. Chase appeared in 43 games for the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals in 2015-16, collecting 37 points (18g, 17a) as well as playing in 19 games for the Bakersfield that same season.
A former seventh round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot, 190-pound forward had a productive junior career in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen. His best season was in 2013-14 when he racked up 85 points (35g, 50a) in 70 games. Overall, he registered 221 points (78g, 143a) in 265 games. Chase also played for the Canada Pacific U17 team in 2011-12 and added six points (1g, 5a) in five games.
Polei, 21, signed with the Condors during the offseason after finishing a four-year junior career in the WHL. Between his time in Saskatoon and Red Deer, the 6-foot-2, 227-pound forward saw his point-production increase each year. A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Polei tallied 62 points (33g, 29a) to go along with 104 penalty minutes last season for the Rebels and was also named as an alternate captain.
