The Sorel, Quebec native also helped Cincinnati to a Kelly Cup Championship in 2008. His eight goals in 22 playoff games ranked tied for third on the team and his 14 points ranked sixth. During Cincinnati's playoff run in 2007, Aubin recorded nine points in 10 playoff games.
The 6-foot 3-inch, 204-lb Aubin recorded 42 goals, 52 assists for 94 points in just 85 games during his time in the ECHL with the Cyclones. His 30 goals in 2007-08 were tied for second on the team, while he skated in just 47 games. Aubin has seen pre-season NHL action with Montreal and was a fifth-round draft pick of the Canadiens in 2005.
Prior to turning pro in 2006, Aubin was a star for the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 2005-06, he led Lewiston with 47 goals, 56 assists and 103 points.
"When I was with Cincinnati, I had a chance to play in Bakersfield," said Aubin. "From what I could tell and what my agent has told me, it's a good organization. I'm good friends with Stephane [Goulet], since we played on the same team when we were younger and then against each other all throughout juniors. Knowing him will make it a little easier to go to a new city."
