
Condors Hang on for 4-2 Win over the Bulls

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls (13-19-1-4) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors (11-25-1-2) 4-2, Sunday afternoon at the Cow Palace. Peter Sivak scored another goal for the Bulls, and Kris Belan scored in the third period to make the contest a one-goal game.
The teams skated to a scoreless first period. Both Taylor Nelson and Scott Greenham were called on to make big saves for their respective teams. The Condors out-shot the Bulls 17-14 in the period.
Bakersfield quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period. Goals from Francis Verreault and Jacob Legace only 11 seconds apart chased Nelson from the net, and brought in Bryan Hince. Bakersfield extended their lead to 3-0 on a shorthanded goal by Nicholas Tremblay at 4:34. Sivak brought the Bulls back into the game at 7:50. A breakaway pass by Jonathan Lessard sprung Sivak through the Bakersfield defense. Sivak's shot the puck through Greehnam for his 15th goal of the season.
Kris Belan brought the deficit down to 3-2 at 4:38 of the third period with his sixth goal of the season. Captain Justin Bowers found Belan in the slot for a beautiful one-time goal. The Bulls pulled Hince late in the game in an attempt to tie the game, but could not put the puck past Greenham. Lagace added an empty-net goal at the end of the game for his second goal of the game, and a 4-2 lead for the Condors.
The Bulls hit the road to take on the Stockton Thunder on Friday. The game at 7:30 from Stockton Arena will be the first of many games to be played in Stockton.
