Today's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (13-18-1-4) look to get back to their winning ways when they face the visiting Bakersfield Condors (9-25-1-2) on Sunday afternoon at the Cow Palace. This is the seventh of 12 regular season meetings between the two, with the Bulls leading the season series 5-1-0-1. Their previous matchup in Bakersfield was a 4-1 win for the Bulls on December 15.

Last Thursday night's game saw the Bulls edged by the Idaho Steelheads 2-1 at the Cow Palace. Peter Sivak scored San Francisco's loan goal with 1:15 remaining in the first period. Sivak's 14th goal of the season was assisted by Alex Tuckerman and Jordan Morrison. David de Kastrozza found the equalizer for his ninth goal of the season with 1:33 remaining in the second. Tristan King scored the game winner for Idaho at 6:36 of the third period. King's 13th goal of the season was assisted by Austin Fyten and William Lacasse.

Aftershocks of the end of the NHL Lockout continue to shake the ECHL, and these two Californian teams are no stranger to the rumble. On Friday, San Francisco announced forward Sacha Guimond has been loaned to the team's AHL affiliate, the Worchester Sharks. This season, Guimond was fourth on the Bulls in points, first among defensemen, with 25 (7 goals, 18 assists). Scott Langdon received a two match suspension after an illegal hit to the head on Idaho's Mathieu Tousignant on Thursday. To help bolster their roster, the Bulls signed 22-year old center Colin Reddin to a standard player contract. Reddin comes to the Bulls from the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League, where he led the team with 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 27 games.

The Bulls defense has dramatically improved lately, the most notable improvements coming on the penalty kill where they struggled early in the season. Over the past five games the Bulls have successfully killed 19 of their last 20 chances. The pressure will be on the rest of the Bulls defense, with Guimond and Langdon both out. Rob Kwiet has been a strong force on the back end, posting eight points in his last ten games (2 goals, 8 assists). With Thomas Heemskerk still on the IR, Taylor Nelson has shined. With a record of 1-1-0-1 in the month of January, Nelson has posted a 0.934 save percentage, stopping 85 of 91 shots he has faced. Jordan Morrison has also been impressive for the Bulls recently, with two goals and seven assists in his past seven games.

San Francisco will be facing some tired legs with Bakersfield, who are coming off of back-to-back games against the Idaho Steelheads on Friday and Saturday. The Condors currently sit in last place, with 21 points on the season. The Bulls sit one place above them in eighth, with 31 points.

It's Shots on Goal Sunday. Fans, 13 and under, can come onto the Cow Palace ice to take a shot on goal, after the game. Plus, the Bulls are offering a 4 for $54 Family Pack deal, where you get four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for just $54.
