BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club has hired John Doolan as their new equipment manager and Jill Watts as the new community relations manager, President Matthew Riley announced today.

Doolan comes to Bakersfield after an extensive 30-year professional career as a hockey equipment manager. Doolan was also the travel coordinator for the Mallards, Blades and Islanders.

Doolan was selected as an equipment manager for the 1996 NHL All-Star Game and the 2000 IHL All- Star Game. He also assisted the NHL with the International Ice Hockey Federation's In-Line Championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

"To get someone of John's experience and caliber is tremendous for us," said Riley. "We feel that John can take this part of our organization to a new level."

Watts will be responsible for all Condors community relations programs, including school programs, mascot and player appearances. She will also handle charity events and donation requests.

Prior to joining the Condors front office staff, the 22-year-old Bakersfield native interned at ESPN in the production department. She also interned locally at Buckley Radio as an assistant producer.

Watts is active in many local charity organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of Bakersfield and Teen Reach, and is a founding member of "Rachel's Girls," an organization that helps in the fight against domestic abuse. She graduated from Stockdale High School and earned her bachelor's degree in communication from Cal State Bakersfield in March.

"We're glad to welcome Jill on board," said Riley. "She's got great enthusiasm and a sincere desire to increase the Condors activity in the community."

"Getting hired with the Condors in the community relations department is a perfect fit for me," Watts said. "Staying local with an amazing organization is so rewarding because I get to help give back to the community I was raised in."
