Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Club, a member of the ECHL, have acquired the rights to Evan Shaw from the San Diego Gulls and sent the rights of Dave Bonk to the Phoenix Roadrunners.

The Condors have obtained the rights to defenseman Evan Shaw from the San Diego Gulls as part of the February trade agreement, which sent forward Dennis Shiryaev to San Diego for future considerations.

The six-foot-two, 210-pound defenseman began his rookie year last season with the Columbia Inferno where he tallied one goal, one assist and 12 penalty minutes in 19 games before being traded to San Diego. While in San Diego, he recorded three goals, three assists and 52 penalty minutes in 51 games.

"In that deal we were looking for a young defenseman with a good future and Evan was that guy," said Raymond. "We hope that he will sign with us."

The Phoenix Roadrunners have acquired the rights to forward Dave Bonk as a future consideration deal that brought Shaun Fisher to Bakersfield on March 15. Bonk began the season with the Columbia Inferno before being traded to Bakersfield on December 21st.

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player contracts cannot be approved or registered by the ECHL until June 6.

For more information or to reserve season tickets, mini-plans and group outings contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825). Season ticket packages start as low as $30.
