Condors announce medical staff for upcoming season

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, are proud to announce the team's medical staff for the 2008-09 season.

Jason Lindsey reprises his role as the Condors Head Athletic Trainer this season, his fourth with the Condors. Lindsey, 29, is employed by Terrio Therapy Fitness, the official physical therapist of the Condors. He oversees the team's general health and fitness on a day-to-day basis. Prior to working for the Condors, the Tehachapi High School grad also spent a season with the Bakersfield Blitz, graduated from Fresno State University with a BS in Kinesiology, and received his master's degree in Education from Cal State University, Bakersfield.

Christopher Hamilton, M.D., will once again serve as the Team Orthopedist. Having worked with the Condors for every season in team history, the Southern California Orthopedic Institute, which recently moved to a new location at 2400 Bahamas Drive in Bakersfield, oversees orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery and more.

Emmanuel Strategos, M.D., is entering his 10th consecutive season as the Condors Team Doctor. A member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Strategos, and Strategos Medical Group is located at 9330 Stockdale Highway.

Bruce Rimmer, D.M.D., is entering his 11th season as the Condors Team Dentist. With offices at 201 New Stine Rd., Dr. Rimmer has also been with the team since the days of the Bakersfield Fog, and even has a collection of Condors and Bakersfield sports history memorabilia in his office.

Jeffrey Haynes, D.C., is entering his 10th season as the Condors Team Chiropractor. Specializing in sports injuries, workers compensation and personal injury, Haynes Chiropractic is located at 3865 Stockdale Highway.

"We're extremely fortunate and appreciative to have such an experienced and professional medical staff to take care of our players each season," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "They have all been with the team for many years, and are a vital part of our organization."

Last May, Mercy and Memorial Hospitals were introduced as the team's presenting sponsors, and the official hospitals of the Condors.

Open House & Family Day is set for Sunday, Oct. 5, so be sure to come to the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center and get your first look at this year's team. The event starts at noon with a team practice, followed by a free public skate with the players. Skate rentals will be available for $3. Admission is free for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items to be collected and donated to the Kern County Food Bank. Season Ticket Books and Gifts will be available for pick up for those who have paid in full. Kids Club packets will also be ready for pick up.
