Nailers Announce 2008-09 Promotional Schedule

WHEELING,WV - The Wheeling Nailers , proud 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced today the team's 2008-09 Promotion Schedule of Events and Giveaways. The Nailers' promotional season kicks off on opening night (Friday, October 17, 2008) with the Stoney Hollow Tire Magnetic Schedule-and closes out thirty-six home games later when the Nailers celebrate Fan Appreciation Night.
Consistent with the seventeen year history of the Nailers, the team's promotional schedule will focus heavily on giving back to the community, as the team will host a series of game nights dedicated to local charitable organizations, including the Pink in the Rink Celebration, Toys for Tots, Go Green Month, Lions Club Night, and Relay at the Rink.
This season's promotions will include a number of collector quality giveaways, including a series of five bobble heads featuring Hall of Famer Darren Schwartz (Saturday, November 29, 2008), the Moon Dog Christmas Bobble Head (Saturday, December 27, 2008) benefitting coats for kids and the Reno Saccoccia bobble head (Saturday, January 31st, 2009) on Steubenville community night.
There are a couple of new giveaways of note, as well, including a series of four posters featuring Nailers players with an Ohio Valley theme, several youth giveaways including the Sidney Crosby mini-stick courtesy of Tim Hortons, and a youth backpack presented by BB&T Bank.
Of course, a number of game nights will have a holiday theme, starting with Halloween Night when the giveaway will be a Halloween Treat, Thanksgiving Eve with turkey bowling and the annual New Year's Eve Party.
The Nailers will don special jerseys several times this season, including Opening Night (October 17, 2008) when they will wear baby blue jerseys similar to those worn by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
