WINNIPEG, MB - Two Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association Bantam teams in the A2 & Atom A3 division raised 2,500.00 dollars from Never Alone wristband sales over the weekend with all proceeds going to CancerCare Manitoba.
In Sunday's Bantam A2 All-Star game at Dutton Arena division champions St. Johns Ravencourt Eagles, whose roster includes Blue Bomber water boy Daniel Asper, sold the wristbands to a packed and supportive house.
Later in the day the Wristbands were also sold at the Atom A3 Championship game at St. Andrews Community Center.
Bantam All Star game coordinator Ray DuBois said "This was a terrific way for our team and their supporters to give something back to the community. I am very proud that we are able to help, and urge everyone to get on board to be good sports and good citizens."
Never Alone wristbands are on sale for 5.00 dollars each at the Bomber Office, 1465 Maroons Road.
