Community Baseball Club of Central New York adds two members

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse SkyChiefs are pleased to announce the addition of Doug Logan and Bob Scalione to the Board of Directors of the Community Baseball Club of Central New York. Logan and Scalione will begin serving on the Board of Directors immediately.

Logan is currently in his second year as General Manager of Time Warner Sports Channel 26, overseeing the programming, operations and advertising sales for Time Warner's local origination channel which currently serves 350,000 cable subscribers throughout Central New York. He worked 19 years as Sports Director of WIXT in Syracuse and spent 24 years with WSYR radio including 20 years as the play-by-play "Voice of the Orange" for Syracuse University Football and Basketball.

He has received many honors and much recognition for his service throughout the community, including the 2002 Tom Higgins Bullpen Chief Award given to a community leader who has contributed to the advancement of professional baseball in Syracuse.

Scalione is a Managing Partner of the Melvin and Melvin Law Firm in Syracuse, New York. He joined the firm in 1974 and was named a Managing Partner in 1981. From 1970-1974 he served as Captain in the United States Judge Advocate General's Corps stationed in Washington, D.C and was assigned as Chief of the Legal Assistants Division.

He is a long time supporter of baseball in Central New York and currently his firm donates money to the Francis House every time a SkyChiefs player hits a home run or ground rule double over the Melvin and Melvin sign in right-centerfield at Alliance Bank Stadium. Scalione received the 2005 Tom Higgins Bullpen Chief Award given to a community leader who has contributed to the advancement of professional baseball in Syracuse.
