The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, will be in Moncton on Tuesday night to present the Moncton Wildcats with the Jean Rougeau Trophy emblematic of the League's regular season championship.
The presentation will take place before game three of the first round of the playoffs between the Wildcats and the Victoriaville Tigres. The series is tied at one game apiece.
The Wildcats captured the League title for the first time in franchise history, accumulating 107 points on 52 wins, 15 losses and 3 overtime losses for 107 points. It was a fitting end to the team's 10th Anniversary season. Moncton was also ranked the number one team in the CHL in the final week of the regular schedule. The Wildcats are the host team for the Memorial Cup which takes place in Moncton from May 19th to 28th.
In addition to winning he league championship, the Wildcats also won the Robert LeBel Trophy as the top defensive team in the Q.
