Commemorative Remembrance Day jerseys to be auctioned off

November 1, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release

The 2018 Remembrance Day Jersey Auction will be held on November 9, 2018 when the Rangers host the Sarnia Sting at 7:30pm. This year will mark the 14th season the Rangers will wear a commemorative jersey.

Fans will be able to place bids to purchase the special jerseys through a silent auction during the game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the 78th Fraser Highlanders Fort Conestoga Garrison and the Kitchener-Waterloo Poppy Fund.

The 2018 Commemorative Remembrance Day Jersey is inspired by the 100th anniversary of the armistice ending World War I. On November 11, 1918 the ringing of church bells erupted spontaneously as an outpouring of relief that the war had come to an end. The front crest features the Dove, a symbol of peace, with a bell adorning the right shoulder of the jersey.

Paying tribute and honouring those who have been a part of the Canadian Forces.

The 1596 Army Cadets will have poppies at all entrances before our Sunday, November 4th and Friday, November 9th game. Please remember to pick up yours to show your support for our veterans.
