Comeback Win Runs Streak to Nine

HALIFAX - The Saint John Sea Dogs continued to roll, overcoming an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 4-3 road win over the Halifax Mooseheads Saturday.

Michael Kirkpatrick was credited with two goals, including the game-winner late in the second period. Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and two assists, while Zack Phillips scored and picked up an assist. Mathieu Corbeil, making his first start at the Metro Centre since being traded to Saint John, made 21 saves for the win.

Charles Bety had two goals and Gerrad Grant added a single for the Mooseheads, while Travis Randell had two assists. Anthony Terenzio stopped 26 shots in the loss.

It was the ninth straight win for the No. 1 team in the Canadian Hockey League, as they improved to 44-5-1-2. Halifax slipped to 17-32-1-2.

Bety scored twice in the first period, opening the scoring 43 seconds in, then making it 2-0 at 13:52.

Huberdeau got the Dogs on the board on a power play 27 seconds into the second, beating Terenzio and a diving defender for his 34th of the year.

Phillips appeared to tie it up at 3:31 of the second, tucking in Kirkpatrick's rebound, but the goal was later credited to Kirkpatrick. Phillips and Gabriel Bourret were awarded assists.

The Mooseheads pulled back into the lead when Grant took advantage of a funny bounce to make it 3-2.

Phillips tied it back up on a 4-on-4 at 9:53, finishing a great passing play from Nathan Beaulieu and Huberdeau. Phillips got to keep this one for his 30 th of the season.

Kirkpatrick gave the Sea Dogs their first lead of the night at 18:16 of the second, taking a Tomas Jurco pass behind the net after Huberdeau started a rush from a turnover at the Sea Dogs blueline. The goal, Kirkpatrick's 24thof the year, stood as the game-winner through a scoreless third.
