Comcast and CNW TV14 strengthen relationship with Jax, NLL

The 2006 All-Star Game is going to be broadcast live on CNW TV14 on Saturday, February 25 at 1p. Jax restaurant will host a viewing party with LumberJax players in attendance (826 SW Second Ave, Portland). Comcast has also enhanced the broadcast schedule of games that will air on CNW TV14 for the rest of the season. This schedule will re-air Jax games as well as give lacrosse fans a chance to view the "Game of the Week" from other teams around the league.

The All-Star players will be announced early next week with input from the media, team GMs and coaches, and fans who helped to determine the starting lineups for the East and West division teams. Each will account for one-third of the total vote for the starting lineups. The All-Star Game will be played in Toronto this year with players coming from every team in the National Lacrosse League.

The NLL has already announced the coaches that will lead the East and West Division teams in the 2006 All-Star Game. The East Division All-Stars will be coached by Rochester Knighthawks head coach Ed Comeau. Comeau will be assisted by Philadelphia Wings head coach Lindsay Sanderson. The West Division All-Stars will be coached by Arizona Sting head coach Bob Hamley. Hamley will be assisted by Calgary Roughnecks head coach Chris Hall. Head coaches of the first and second place teams in each division after Week Six of the regular season became the head coach and assistant coach, respectively, of the All-Star teams of their respective divisions.

Comcast digital cable subscribers can access LumberJax and "Game of the Week" programming through "On Demand" service. The LumberJax are on the road throughout February, first in Buffalo on Friday and then in Philadelphia on Saturday, February 18.

The Portland LumberJax (www.PortlandJax.com) were founded on May 11, 2005 as an expansion franchise in the National Lacrosse League, which features the best lacrosse players in the world. LumberJax are owned by the youngest majority owner in professional sports, 25-year-old Angela Batinovich, who relocated permanently to Portland, OR from California. The LumberJax are one of 11 teams in the NLL and will play eight of the sixteen regular season games at the Rose Garden, which is owned by Portland Arena Management LLC.
