Patterson Named NLL Defensive Player of Week

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Minnesota Swarm goaltender Nick Patterson was named the Defensive of the Week for Week Six of the NLL season. Patterson, 23 (12/8/82), was named NLL Defensive Player of the Week after holding the Edmonton Rush to six goals in a 7-6 road win for Minnesota on February 3. With the win Patterson improved to 3-0 on the season. The three-year veteran recorded 40 saves and held the expansion Rush to 0-for-8 on the power-play in the victory. Patterson also recorded an assist, his first of the season, in the win. He leads the league with a 8.53 goals against average (GAA) and ranks first with a .835 save percentage.

This is the second weekly award Patterson has won this season. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Vancouver, British Columbia was named NLL Player of the Week in Week Four.
