San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---First baseman Daryl Jones and left fielder Clay Calfee each had a home run and three runs batted in and starting pitcher Brian Henschel went seven innings for the win as San Angelo beat McAllen 11-7 Saturday night at Foster Field.
The Colts got off to a quick start with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by the Jones (6) home run. McAllen got two back in the second inning on a two-run double by Carlos Gallardo, but after that San Angelo pulled away.
The Colts scored three times in the bottom of the third inning, thanks in part to an error that allowed two runs to score. Calfee (2) led off the fifth inning with a home run, Austin Lasprilla added an RBI single and San Angelo took a six run lead to the seventh. McAllen threatened, with three runs in the seventh to chase Henschel from the game and another two runs in the eighth to make it an 8-7 game, before the Colts added three runs in the bottom of the inning to pull away.
Henschel (1-2, 6.38) started and earned the win, while lefty Kendrick Martin (0-1, 8.10) took the loss for the Thunder in his first professional start.
