Colts Sweep Doubleheader

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts swept an exhibition doubleheader against the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League Monday afternoon and into the night. San Angelo took game one 12-4 and won the nightcap 13-2.

Game one highlights for the Colts included a home run bonanza, as the team went deep six times combined. Ronnie Gaines led off the bottom of the first with a long ball and the Colts never looked back. Landon Camp homered twice and Jason Crosland, Jon Edwards and Jareck West all went deep once.

On the mound Chandler Barnard started and pitched two shutout innings and former big leaguer Francisco Cruceta made his debut in a Colts uniform. Cruceta pitched a scoreless inning and struck out one hitter.

In game two, the offensive barrage continued for San Angelo. The Colts put up seven runs in the third inning, capped off by a Brian Hernandez grand slam. In the sixth inning, Camp added his third home run of the twin bill to give the Colts their thirteenth run of the ballgame.

San Angelo opens the season Wednesday against the McAllen Thunder at 7:05 PM. The first 1,000 fans get a t-shirt and First Financial Federal Credit Union will sponsor a post game fireworks show. For tickets and more information call 94-COLTS or visit sanangelocolts.com.
