San Angelo Colts News Release

Jackson, MS- After two disheartening losses the night before, Toby Rumfield's Colts were left with a little soul searching to do after being swept in a doubleheader the night before. Tonight, they came out with a different approach, and it worked to perfection. Rumfield admitted that his team had been struggling to play "small ball", and predicted his team would get back to basics and get back on the winning streak.

The Colts scratched across runs in the 1st, 3rd and 4th innings to take a 3-0 lead over Rusty Camp and the Senators. The floodgates would open in the 6th, as the Colts would plate 5, capped by an Eddie Gerald 2 run bomb, his 6th of the season.

Two innings later Matt Sanchez would drive home 2 more in his return to Jackson as Sanchez and the Colts spanked the Senators tonight 10-1. Overshadowed by all the offense was Mike Henry's outing, a 7 inning performance in which he limited Jackson to just 1 run on the night. Henry's easy win advanced his record to 6-2 on the season while Camp fell to 5-5 with the loss. Sean Bischofberger led the Colt's offensive barrage by going 3-5 on the night while Sancez would finish the evening with 4 RBI. Jackson had a 2-3 night from Josh Tranum to give him a hit in every game of the series.
