
Cats explode for 11-2 win

Bryon Smith belted two home runs and Allen Davis strong innings as the Cats walloped the Roadrunners 11-2 on Sunday night at LaGrave Field.
Before an Independence Day crowd of 8,309 in Fort Worth, Smith gave the Cats their first lead of the game with a two-run shot to left in the second inning.
One inning later, Smith homered again to left, this time a three-run clout to put the Cats ahead 6-1. Smith drove in five runs in the game and lifted his home run total to seven for the season.
The Cats added three runs in the seventh inning â highlighted by a Terence Green two-run single. Green had three hits on the night.
Davis (6-3) earned the win for the Cats as he allowed two runs on eight hits through eight innings of work. The Cats' left-hander struck out eight as he won his second consecutive game.
Edinburg's league-leading offense was limited to single runs in the first and third innings as they were held down by Cats' pitching for the second night in a row. Second baseman Anthony Angel did have two hits and an RBI.
Edinburg starter Ryan Harris, who came into the game with a perfect 8-0 record, took the loss as he allowed seven earned runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.
The Cats and Roadrunners complete the four-game series on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. Brandon Wood goes for the Cats and will be opposed by Edinburg's Julio Ruiz.
