
Colts Snap Win Streak, Lose 10-5

San Angelo Colts News Release
SAN ANGELO, Texas--- In front of just under 2,000 fans, The Coastal Bend Thunder (8-6) stopped the San Angelo Colts( 9-5) four game win streak with a final score of 10-5.
In the top of the fourth inning, Thunder led 2-0. With Dustin Smith on second base, Leivi Ventura struck a two-run shot pushing the Coastal Bend lead to 4-0.
Then in the bottom of the fifth with the Colts trailing 6-1, San Angelo would cut the lead in half. With the Bases loaded and Ronnie Gaines at the plate, he would single to right field scoring Hunter Jobes. The Bases would remain loaded as Jason Landreth worked a base on balls cutting the lead to just three.
However in the top of the eighth, the Thunder would put the game out of reach as Mike Goss drove a two out bases loaded double to left center field one hopping the wall and clearing the bases. That put the score at 10-3.
Offensively for the Colts, Bradley Goldsmith each added three hits, both collecting two singles and a double. Gaines went two for four with an RBI.
Jason Landreth, Jason Diaz, and Jobes also added and RBI.
The winning pitcher in tonight's ballgame was Thunder's David Parker (1-0). The loss goes to Matt Duff (0-2). Game three of this series will continue tomorrow at Foster Field as the Colts and the Thunder each share a game apiece. First pitch is set for 7:05, gates will open at 6:05. Tomorrow night will be Runnels County Commnuity Night and Travel Bag sponsored by State Farm Insurance.
