San Angelo Colts News Release

Alexandria, La. - The San Angelo Colts announced Tuesday they have signed former Angelo State University catcher Nate Alter and placed him on the Inactive List.

Alter, 23, is from San Angelo, and he played three seasons for the Angelo State Rams. The recent ASU graduate hit .250 with an RBI and three runs scored in 13 games for the Rams.

Although Alter is on the Inactive List, he will serve as the Colts' bullpen catcher when the team plays at home. Alter is one of two ASU alums on the Colts' active roster. The other is reliever Jeremy Tietze, who played for Angelo State from 2007 through 2010.

Alter was born in Landstuhl, Germany at a United States Army hospital, but he grew up in San Angelo and attended Central High School.
