San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas --- The Colts announced Monday they have released starting pitchers Ryan Riddle and Gorman Romero.
Riddle went 1-0 with a 2.25 earned-run average in two starts before going on the Inactive List. The lefty went inactive on June 6 due to inflammation in his throwing arm, and had not played since then.
Through six professional seasons, Riddle, 27, is 15-16 with a 5.31 earned-run average in 77 games and 41 starts.
After spending his first two seasons in San Angelo, Romero re-signed with the Colts on February 23. Due to an injury he never reported to spring training, and was placed on the Inactive List on May 21. Romero has not been with the club at all this season.
The 27-year-old righty is 11-1 lifetime with a 4.28 earned-run average in 47 games and eight starts. Last season, Romero went 4-1 for the Colts with a 5.12 earned-run average and one save in seven games and two starts.
The Colts begin an eight-game series with the Abilene Prairie Dogs tonight at Foster Field. It is Haircuts at the Ballpark Night, sponsored by SportClips. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
