Abilene Prairie Dogs News Release

SAN ANGELO, TX - After dominating the McAllen Thunder lineup in his first professional outing on July 16, Tommy Hoenshell has been sent to the inactive list due to an injury to his right shoulder.

The news emerges after the rookie exited Saturday's game prior to the top of the second inning. The right-hander has been placed on the inactive list indefinitely. Abilene has not yet announced a replacement for his spot in the rotation.

Hoenshell earned his first career victory after throwing seven innings and allowing just one run (unearned) on seven hits and eight strikeouts on July 16. On Saturday, he yielded a two-run, first inning homer to Miguel Alfonzo, retired the next batter to end the inning, and did not return for the top of the second.

The Dogs hit the road for four consecutive games in San Angelo before returning to Walt Driggers' Field on Friday, each game will start at 7:05. Hear every pitch on 106.9 KLGD or on the internet at abileneprairiedogs.com beginning with the First Financial Postgame Show at 6:55.
