
Colts rally past Aces

Despite having two six-run leads, the Alexandria Aces lost 14-13 to the San Angelo Colts at Foster Field Saturday night.
The Aces scored six in the first, including a two-run double by Patrick O'Sullivan. After the Colts came back with five runs in the bottom half, O'Sullivan launched his eighth home run of the year, a solo shot to right to give the Aces a 7-5 lead. After Jose Tores hit his second home run in as many days in the bottom of the third, a Palmer Karr Jr. three-run homer to left highlighted a five-run fifth. Down 12-8 in the eighth, the Colts tied the game on an RBI-single by Tyrone Pendergrass, a two-run double by John Anderson, and a sacrifice fly by Bryan Frichter. In the tenth, the Aces scored an unearned run when Madison Edwards hit a run-scoring single to right to score Albert Gonzalez. The Colts came back with two in the bottom half. Anderson tied the game when he scored on a single by Jason Crosland. Crosland scored the winning run when Blake Butler dropped a fly ball to center by Andres Rodriguez.
The rubber match will be Sunday at 5:05 PM. Alexis Sosa will pitch for the Aces against the Colts' Frank James.
