Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The San Angelo Colts used early runs in the first 3 innings to defeat the Edinburg Roadrunners by a score of 12-2 on Thursday night at Foster Field.

The Colts (5-3) scored early and often to put the game out of reach when they scored four runs in the first inning to jump to an early 4-0 lead.

Homeruns by Mike Mobbs and Braden Embry got the Colts offense going as they each drove in Jon Dziomba and Kyle Nichols respectively. The Colts added two more runs in the second and third inning to make it 6-0.

Starter Alex Bates (1-0) earned the win as he kept the Roadrunners offense at bay and the only damage he would allow would a two run homerun by Carlton Salters homerun in the fourth inning which would be the second of the season. It made the score 6-2 and it would be all Bates would surrender.

Salters went 2-for-4 while driving in two for the Roadrunners (2-6) as Daiki Komori and Trevor McDonald also collected hits.

Edinburg starter Frank DeJuilio (0-1) took the loss lasting one and a third innings giving up five runs on five hits, while striking out two in the process.

Roadrunners home opener is on Saturday, June 1st at 7:05 pm where it will be McAllen Family Urgent Care Schedule Magnet Night as they host the Fort Worth Cats at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
