Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

SAN ANGELO, Texas-The Edinburg Coyotes struggled in an 18-2 loss against the San Angelo Colts Friday night at Foster Field. The only bright spot of the game for the Coyotes (33-38) was in the top of the first inning when Daryl Jones hit his 10th home run of the season. Alex Entrekin started the inning with a walk and then was brought in on the two-run blast by Jones to deep right field. The Colts (43-27) took over the game in the bottom of the first inning. They sent eleven players to the plate in the inning and scored six runs to quickly take a 6-2 lead. Carlos Jan (1-3) struggled as he could not get one out in the first inning and was chased after facing only seven hitters. The Colts added three runs in the second inning, four runs in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth. The Coyotes offense struggled to make something happen as they only got four hits on the night. The game was called early because of lightning in the area. The game ended in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Coyotes will travel to Amarillo to finish the season series against the Dillas. Miguel Martinez, Aaron Guerra and John Maschino will pitch in the series for the Coyotes. After the completion of the nine game road trip the Coyotes will head back home to face Alexandria and Laredo.
