San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas --- The Colts announced Sunday they have activated outfielder Ronnie Gaines and traded infielder Jason Crosland to the Abilene Prairie Dogs in exchange for future considerations.

Gaines was placed on the Inactive List on August 9 just prior to the Colts' nine-game road trip to the valley. Gaines could not travel with the team due to his obligations at Texas Leadership Charter Academy (TLCA).

Gaines made his return from the Inactive List Saturday against Abilene, and went 1-for-5 with two runs scored. The Colts' Captain is batting .347 with nine home runs and 33 RBIs in 66 games.

In order to make room for Gaines on the active roster, the Colts traded Crosland to the Prairie Dogs. The former Colts' Co-Captain hit .233 with seven homers and 42 RBIs in 70 games. Crosland went hitless in his Prairie Dogs debut Saturday night.

The Colts and Prairie Dogs continue their four-game series tonight at Foster Field. It is another Grand Slam Sunday, sponsored by Fiddlestrings. One lucky fan will go home with a 47" HDTV, courtesy of Fiddlestrings. Gates open at 5:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.

The Colts are a member of United League Baseball who are in their 13th season. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
