(Fort Collins, CO) - The Colorado Ice are headed to Amarillo, Texas this weekend to face the Venom who have been on a losing streak since the Ice beat the Venom 37-26 in the first regular season game for both teams.
The Venom had a tough loss last week to the Allen Wranglers but kept the game close with a 52-51 loss. The Venom has been close to winning in each of their previous games, with their defense playing hard. The Venom defense played very hard against Allen with 6 sacks and 4 interceptions; however, the Wranglers were able to overcome the dominant defense of Amarillo to maintain their one point lead from the second quarter throughout the remainder of the game.
The Colorado Ice and Bricktown Brawlers had a back and forth game last week. The first quarter had both teams scoring only 13 points collectively, by halftime the Colorado Ice pulled away from the Bricktown Brawlers with a score of 30-20. The third quarter gave the Brawlers hope as they held the Ice to no points, while taking 6 points for themselves. The tables were turned in the fourth quarter when the Brawlers were scoreless and the Ice scored 8 points. The Colorado Ice was able to overcome their 3 fumbles, and take 2 interceptions, which assisted in their victory over the Brawlers, 38-26.
The two teams have switched their records as of this time last season, when the Venom was on a winning streak and the Ice had not won a game. Both teams have added new players and been able to establish game plans' coming into Saturday night's game, allowing for the battle between the undefeated Ice and the Venom who are ready for a win. Game time is 6:00pm MST, Saturday, April 9th.
