Colorado Crush Announce New General Manager

December 21, 2015 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO - Today, the Colorado Crush Indoor Football team announced a major change has taken place within the organization. Head Coach Heron O'Neal has been promoted to General Manager and replaces Art Clarkson, who has recently stepped down and is no longer with the Crush.

When asked about this opportunity Heron stated, "I am eager to get started at working towards placing our organization among the top teams in the IFL. I know there will be a learning curve, but I believe I have the conviction and patience to get the task done."

This is no easy undertaking, handling football operations as well as business operations, but Heron is up to the task. He is excited for the opportunity to work on the business side of a professional team. With the knowledge and experience gained previously with the Wyoming Cavalry and the Billings Outlaws, Heron will draw from these and implement them with his own style.

Heron started his coaching career with Wyoming in 2005 and has done nothing, but put in the hard work necessary to be successful. He has worked hard to build amazing teams with the 2006- 2010 Outlaws, winning 3 championships for Billings. A Tornado struck Billings in 2010 and abruptly ended his season. He later accepted the defensive coordinator position for Colorado. He then earned the Head Coaching role in 2012.

As owner, Tow Wigley has seen Heron grow and when asked about these changes he said, "I really think this is a good move for the organization and Heron is the perfect fit for this position. Heron has always demanded excellence on the field and he will do the same as the head of the front office as well. Here at the Crush, we are always finding ways to change and adapt and this is another step towards the path of excellence."

Erik Echols, Heron's agent, was contacted and is excited for his client saying. "Today marks a historic day in IFL history with the appointment of Heron O'Neal as both the General Manager and Head coach of the Colorado Crush. There is no doubt in my mind that Coach O'Neal will become a future inductee in the IFL Hall of Fame because he is an Indoor Football League icon."

The Colorado Crush is a proud member of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado. The 2016 season kicks off in late February with specific game-day dates on the Crush website.
